Overview

SnapPage is a local-first Chrome extension for capturing full-page, visible-area, and selected-region screenshots and saving them as PNG or JPEG files. We are committed to protecting your privacy.

What We Store

  • ✓ Capture preferences — selected mode (full page / visible / selection), format (PNG/JPEG), quality
  • ✓ Capture counter — number of screenshots taken (used to show review prompt after 5 captures)

What We Do NOT Collect

  • ✗ No personal identifying information (name, email, address)
  • ✗ No screenshot content — images are processed in-memory and never stored or uploaded
  • ✗ No browsing history or visited URLs
  • ✗ No analytics or usage tracking data
  • ✗ No data sent to external servers
  • ✗ No remote AI or OCR processing

Data Storage

All data is stored locally using:

  • • Chrome Storage API — for capture preferences and counter
  • • Service Worker memory — captured screenshot data URL (cleared when service worker is inactive)

Screenshots are processed locally. SnapPage has no analytics, telemetry, remote AI processing, screenshot upload, accounts, or cloud sync during normal use. A browser-managed uninstall URL may open this website after removal so users can leave feedback.

Permissions Explained

activeTab Access the current tab to capture its visible content as a screenshot
scripting Inject scroll-and-capture logic for full-page screenshots and selection overlay
downloads Save screenshots to your Downloads folder
tabs Read tab URL and title for smart file naming (domain_title_date.png)
storage Save your capture preferences (mode, format, quality) locally

Third-Party Services

SnapPage does not use analytics, telemetry, remote AI processing, screenshot upload APIs, or cloud storage. Screenshots are saved directly through the browser downloads API.

Data Deletion

Uninstall the extension to remove all locally stored data. You can also clear extension data via Chrome Settings > Extensions > SnapPage > Details > Clear data.

Children's Privacy

SnapPage is not intended for children under 13 years of age.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date above.
